Ekmek kadayf
Ingredients for 8 people:
300 gr butter
2 bags whipped cream
1 Liter of milk
Ingredients for the cream:
4 cups milk
1 cup sugar
½ glass of flour
4 eggs
2 tablespoon butter
2 vanillas
Ingredients for the syrup:
2 glasses of water
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1 kg of sugar
2 leaves pelargonium
How to prepare:
In a large pan we separate the kadayf to become fluffy and spread. Put the butter in small pieces on the kadayf to spread across the surface. Bake in preheated oven at 180 oC for 20-30 minutes until it gets a nice orange color. Remove from the oven and break it with a fork so there are no large pieces and let cool.
In a saucepan, add the water, the leaves, the sugar and the lemon juice and let it cook for 5 minutes. We pour the hot syrup over the cold kadayf that we have already put inside the bowl.
Put the sugar, flour and eggs in a mixer and whisk for 2 minutes. Boil the milk in a saucepan. Once it boils, slowly add it in our blend. Pour the mixture into the pan and stir until thickened. Remove it from the heat but continue to stir, add the vanilla and butter. Pour the cream over the kadayf and let it cool.
Once we are ready, prepare our whipped cream like it is stated on the packaging and add it to the surface of our sweet.
