ORANGE PIE WITH CRUST SHEET (FILO)
Ingredients (10 pieces):
- 500 gr crust pie sheet (filo)
- 80 gr melted butter
- 3 tblsp sugar & 1 tsp cinnamon for the pastry sheet
- 180 gr sugar
- 5 eggs
- 180 gr oil
- 1 sachet baking powder
- 350 gr yoghurt strained
- 2 tblsp liqueur
- Orange peel grated from 2 oranges
Ingredients for the syrup:
- 250 gr sugar
- 250 gr water
- Juice from 2 oranges
- Some orange peel
How to prepare:
Butter well our pirex.
Mix the sugar with the cinnamon.
We split half of our pastry sheets (fila) about 6 or 7 and spread one by one. Butter them and sprinkle with the sugar and the cinnamon. Squeeze them next to each other and place them in the pirex. We try not to press them too much, but all your fila must fit in our pirex.
Bake in preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until lightly browned.
In a large bowl put the sugar, eggs and beat until the mixture is homogeneous. Add the oil, baking powder, yogurt, liqueur and orange zest. Mix again. Cut the remaining sheets into small pieces, one by one and incorporate in our mix.
Pour this mixture over the baked sheets.
Bake in the oven at 170 – 180 ° C for about 30 minutes until golden brown and has been baked both on top and below. Remove from the oven and let cool.
Into a saucepan, add all the ingredients for the syrup and leave to boil for 4-5 minutes.
Syrup our cold orange pie with hot syrup and leave for 4-5 minutes to absorb the syrup.
